Samsung Reportedly Scaling Back Galaxy S6/S6 Edge Production

Recently there have been many questions surrounding Samsung’s future. There are some analysts who believe that Samsung is on the verge of imploding, while there are others who seem to be pretty optimistic about Samsung’s future and with the sales of the company’s current flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Unfortunately until we hear from Samsung officially, all we have are rumors and speculation and according to the latest ones, it seems that Samsung could be thinking about scaling back production of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge by as much as 16%. While this seems to suggest that maybe sales aren’t doing so well, it might not necessarily be the case.

It has been noted that this could be due to other factors and not necessarily be due to poor sales. It could be due to the decline in the Won’s value which makes production more expensive for the company. It could also be that Samsung does not want to overproduce and be left with unsold inventory.

Or it could also be that due to the use of the more premium materials in the Galaxy S6 and the curved display of the Galaxy S6 Edge that made production more expensive than the previous Galaxy S-series of handsets, which could be why Samsung wants to scale back a bit before they get ahead of themselves.

However like we said this is a rumor for now, but recently more analysts have come forward sharing optimistic views about the company’s future, with a research firm believing that Samsung could very well sell as many as 50 million Galaxy S6 handsets in 2015.
