The Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 are handsets that we have been hearing about for a while now. In fact just last weekend, photos of the Galaxy J5 were leaked online. Well for those who are eagerly waiting the official news, you will be pleased to learn that Samsung has officially announced both handsets.
Now in terms of specs, both handsets share certain features, like LTE, dual-SIM capabilities, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera with an aperture of f/1.9, and a 5MP front-facing camera with front-facing flashes which presumably are aimed at the selfie lover who feels that maybe front-facing cameras could do with more illumination.
Those are their similarities but here are the differences. The Galaxy J5 will be the less powerful of the two. It will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor under the hood. There will also be a 2,600mAh battery accompanying the phone.
The Galaxy J7 on the other hand will be more powerful with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, a 5.5-inch display with a HD resolution (which is a bit unfortunate) and a slightly bigger battery at 3,000mAh). Both phones have been announced in China and it is unclear as to whether we might see them stateside.
