It was expected that Sony would make some kind of announcement related to the PlayStation Vue TV streaming service during its E3 2015 press conference and surely the company had something to say about the service, which has so far only been available in a handful of markets. Sony confirmed that a-la-carte channel streaming is coming to the PlayStation Vue as the service launches in two more cities in the United States.

PlayStation Vue head Dwayne Benefield revealed during the press conference that the company is seeing strong engagement from PlayStation fans in the three launch markets where this service is available right now, the introduction of a-la-carte channels is going to provide users with greater choice and flexibility, says Benefield.

Showtime is coming as a a-la-carte option for PlayStation Vue, it will be available next month for $10.99 on top of the Vue subscription plan, however PlayStation Plus members will only pay $8.99 per month.

Sony is expanding PlayStation Vue to San Francisco and Los Angeles, it will be providing up to 85 channels per market through three subscription plans which range between $49.99 to $69.99.

Andrew House from Sony has said that PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive discounted subscription rates for PlayStation Vue so they’ll be able to save some money off of the internet TV streaming service.

The company is going to provide more details about this in the coming weeks.
