However if the exec’s statement was accurate, it seems that the company was merely considering the idea and now according to a report out of China (via Android Headlines), it seems that the “Edge” version of the Galaxy Note 5 will no longer be launched. Instead it seems that we might be treated to a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, a handset that we have been hearing about for a while now.
Earlier when we heard rumors of the handset, we were a little confused as it seemed that it would be too similar to the rumored Galaxy Note 5 Edge, but now that the Edge version of the Note 5 has been cancelled, we suppose the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus makes more sense, although given that it is not of the Note series, we can only assume that it won’t come with the S Pen features.
In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but Samsung is expected to unveil new devices at IFA 2015 which will be taking place later this year, so do check back with us then for the confirmation.
