]It has been over a year since Google acquired Nest, a company that makes smart connected objects. Many people would know of Nest because of its smart thermostat. The company hasn’t really released a new product in quite a while now but that streak might be close to its end, because Nest today confirmed that it’s going to conduct a press event on June 17th. At that event it’s quite likely that Nest will unveil new products.
This will be the first time that Nest would talk about new products in a major way since being acquired by Google about a year back. So far the company has not hinted about what we can expect from the press event.
Currently Nest only has two products, the smart thermostat and the smoke detector. It certainly wants to play a bigger part in the smart home revolution so perhaps the new products would do much more than its existing products are capable of doing.
There have also been rumors that Nest might be considering a move into audio products. Nest recently acquired Dropcam, a company known for security cameras, and it could bring in those products in its lineup as well.
Nest has certainly got people talking about smart home devices, and now with Google at its back, perhaps the company’s new product lineup might be even more exciting than before.
