Many of you might be familiar with Microsoft’s new internet browser which was initially known as Project Spartan though its official moniker is Microsoft Edge. The browser will be available as an app for Windows 10 Mobile which will allow the company to quickly roll out updates for it. In an upcoming update Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 Mobile is going to receive a new feature which will allow users to close the browser without having to worry about their current downloads being paused.
Microsoft Edge Program Manager Ade Bateman revealed via a tweet that in an upcoming update for the web browser on Windows 10 Mobile the background downloading feature will be present, currently the team is working on putting this feature together.
Bateman was asked when this update for the browser is going to arrive and he didn’t offer a confirmed release date, rather he also said that it “probably won’t be in the first release.”
Even though Microsoft has revealed when Windows 10 is going to be released it is yet to give a date for Windows 10 Mobile but many believe that the new software is going to be out by September.
The company had previously said that background downloading would not be part of the new web browser but it has gone back on that and confirmed that this feature is indeed being developed and that it will arrive on Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 Mobile in due time.
