Mobile market in China is brimming with competition and manufacturers are locking horns over getting an upper hand in the mid-range segment of the smartphones. Although Apple is acquiring a major chunk of buyers with its recent flagships, but other manufacturers are focusing on different segments now. In the latest occurrence, Meizu has taken the charge by announcing a mid-ranger Meizu M2 Note, in an event held in China.
There have been many leaks in the past that suggested the specification of the device, but here are the actual specifications, Meizu M2 Note features a 5-inch 1080p IPS display, and is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor paired with eight Cortex-A53 64-bit CPUs and Mali-T720 GPU. The device comes with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and there is 16GB and 32GB of internal storage options that are further expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It is backed by a 3,100 mAh battery.
The M2 Note runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Meizu’s indigenous Flyme OS on top. The smartphone includes the much-talked about mBack home button that offers Android Navigation controls via single tap on the button. The company has not revealed the availability and pricing of the device in the U.S., however in China it will be retailing at ¥799. The device comes in four polycarbonate color variants, White, Blue, Grey, and Pink.
