Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 640 and the Lumia 640 XL at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, T-Mobile was going to carry this device but it has made its customers wait for quite a long time for this handset to arrive. The wait ends today though as T-Mobile has finally launched the Lumia 640 on its network. T-Mobile hadn’t really provided a confirmed release date back then, only that it would launch this handset “later this Spring,” well it seems to have kept to its word.
Interested customers can now purchase the Lumia 640 from T-Mobile for $129.84 at full retail price or they can get it on the equipment installment plan for $0 down and 24 equal monthly payments of $5.41.
For those who might be unaware the Lumia 640 has a 5 inch 720×1,280 pixel resolution IPS LCD display with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quadcore processor from Qualcomm hooked up to 1GB of RAM.
There’s 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD card to 128GB, it has an 8 megapixel rear and 1 megapixel front camera as well as 4G LTE support and a 2,500mAh battery.
Lumia 640 comes with Windows Phone 8.1 and it’s among the devices that will automatically receive the update to Windows Mobile 10 when the new software arrives possibly by September this year.
