LG has reportedly confirmed that the LG Vu 3 will not be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The device when it was launched in 2013 came with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, and while it did receive an update to Android 4.4 KitKat, that’s as far as it goes. So if you’re the owner of the LG Vu 3, we guess you can either choose to find yourself a custom ROM based on Android 5.0 for your phone, or make peace with the fact that you’ll be stuck with Android 4.4 KitKat until you decide to get a new device.
Now according to LG, they claim that while they have tried to get Android 5.0 up and running on the phone, the end result is that the latest update of Android proved to be too unstable thus leading to their plans getting scrapped. We’re not sure why that is as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 is powerful enough, not to mention its 2GB of RAM seems to be more than sufficient, but either way until LG changes their minds, that’s how it is going to be.
