Earlier this year for some reason or the other, Apple decided to remove several wearables from its store. This include the Nike FuelBand and some of Jawbone’s UP fitness trackers. It had been assumed at that time that it might have something to do with the Apple Watch launch, but for whatever reason it seems that some of the products have returned.
This is according to a presentation held in Japan in which Jawbone’s senior product manager Jason Donahue revealed that come early July, customers can expect to find Jawbone’s products making their way back to the Apple Store. It is also expected that these products will appear in the US store slightly earlier than in Japan, so US customers can look forward to getting their hands on in possibly later this month.
Donahue revealed that the Apple Stores worldwide will carry the company’s UP Move and UP2 fitness tracker. Unfortunately there was no mention of the UP3 tracker which was only just released back in April or the Jawbone UP4 (Jawbone claims there are no plans to release the wearable in Japan) which is basically the Jawbone UP3 with a mobile payments feature integrated into it, so we guess customers will have to purchase those two models directly from Jawbone or another retailer.
This isn’t the first time a product has been removed from the Apple Store only to be returned at a later date. This happened to Bose whose products were removed, which presumably had to do with Bose’s legal spat with Beats, but managed to find its way back into the Apple Store later.
