According to a report from earlier today, it was revealed that inside iOS 9, there was a keyboard that appears to have been designed for larger tablets in mind. This is thanks to the fact that the keyboard can now display more keys than the current version of the keyboard, which makes sense if you had a larger display to take advantage of.
This seemed to lead to speculation that the keyboard could be a hint of the rumored iPad Pro. Well now thanks to new code discovered within iOS 9, it seems that the resolution of the tablet might have been revealed in the process. According to the code it refers to a resolution of 1336×1024 which is admittedly low.
However when taking into account Retina scaling, it really means that the resolution would be 2732×2048. Factor that in with its rumored 12.9-inch display and you should get a pixel density that is more or less similar to the iPad Air 2 which has a 2048×1536 resolution. Of course none of this actually confirms that the iPad Pro is a sure thing, but like the previous report it certainly seems to hint very strongly at the device’s existence.
If the rumors are to be believed, Apple could unveil the iPad Pro in the later part of the year. Apple typically announces iPad refreshes after the iPhone announcement, so perhaps we could hear about the iPad Pro then, so do check back with us later for the details.
