Now these devices all share certain activities that can be done on either device which has led to the creation of hybrids, like laptops with detachable displays that can turn into tablets, or tablets that have portions that can be removed to become a smartphone and a tablet, but is this the way of the future? While we suppose we’ll have to wait and see, Gartner believes that the sales of such devices are at the very least expected to rise in 2015.
According to Gartner, they believe that in 2015, they expect that the sales of hybrid devices will rise as much as 77% and will sell as many as 13.5 million units. “Sales of hybrid devices have not stopped growing since 2012, totaling 12.6 million units in 2014 and expected to reach 58 million units in 2019.”
Gartner also believes that ASUS will continue to lead the market as the company has managed to ship as many as 3.1 million hybrids last year, and given that the company has created unique devices like the Transformer Pad and the Padfone, we suppose that is possible, but what do you guys think? Do you think that hybrid devices is the way going forward, or do you still prefer having separate devices?
