However as HTC notes on its blog, this update is only rolling out to users who have the global version of the handset. “This update—which has already been rolled out to select countries in Asia and is being rolled out now in Europe—provides enhancements to the camera, battery life, and charging performance of the One M9.”
This does not mean that HTC has forgotten about its users in the US, but it’s just that you guys will probably get the update a bit later since it will be subject to testing and approval by the carriers you bought your phone from, which unfortunately is really anyone’s guess as to when that might be.
In the meantime according to HTC, the update will see the camera gain better auto-exposure balance which should help with the details while keeping the colors of the photo balanced. Low-light performance has reportedly been improved upon resulting in clearer photos. Interestingly enough HTC has also mentioned that the update will improve the charging of the phone to allow it to stay cooler while it is being charged.
