For those unfamiliar, this conjures a ring of zombies around the target thus ringing him off and deals damage to the character. This is versus the Diablo 3 version where a line of zombies is raised in front of the enemy which then deals damage to those that get too close. However it seems that Blizzard liked the idea of a ring of zombies that they have changed the Diablo 3 version.
This was spotted by some eagle-eyed gamers who have been datamining the upcoming Diablo 3 patch 2.3 and spotted the tweak to the ability. This has since been confirmed by John Yang who is one of the designers of Diablo 3 who wrote on Twitter, “Definitely liked the @BlizzHeroes version of Wall of Zombies. Works well in @Diablo.”
It’s interesting to see how despite Heroes of the Storm being based on existing characters and skills that it has already had an impact on some of Blizzard’s other franchises, going to show the tight integration that Blizzard has with its universes. We have to wonder what else could change in the future.
