If you’re not a fan of the Season Pass system, you might be pleased to learn to IO Interactive will not be heading that route with their recently announced HITMAN title. Speaking to VideoGamer, IO Interactive’s studio head Hannes Seifert told the publication that the game will be launched for $60 and will receive additional updates and new content for free.
According to Seifer, “Everything we ship on December 8 will be completely finished, it will be a very polished experience. It’s also going to be a very big game. There are other products that sell a game for $60 and then try to sell you a Season Pass for another $40 on top, so you spend $100 or $120 for all the stuff that happens later on. We said no, we don’t want to do that.”
Seifert believes that by approaching it this way, it will give players what they want without the players feeling like they have been ripped off. He also promises, “It’s $60, no dollar more, no DLC or microtransactions or stuff like that. You will buy it and you will have entertainment for a few months on top.” What do you guys think? Pretty noble of IO Interactive, don’t you think?
