If you’re a Game of Thrones fan you’re going to love the new option that appears to have popped up in Google Maps’ public transit directions. It provides you with a whole new way to get to your destination using public transit, though you might have to fight for that way, given that the last remaining Targaryen isn’t going to give up her dragons that easily. Yes, obviously this is not real and just an Easter egg, but don’t we all love Easter eggs?
In the image above you can see public transit directions from Snowdon, which is the tallest mountain in Wales, to Brecon Beacons, which is yet another impressive Welsh mountain range.
The green route charted out by Google Maps is as straight as a route can be, given that you’ll be flying by dragon, and won’t really have to shift course to avoid obstacles in your path.
It shows that on a dragon you will be able to cover that distance of 100 miles in just 32 minutes, which is impressive speed indeed for those dragons. If you were to take something as pedestrian as a car on this route, it would take close to four hours.
It’s obviously meant as fun little Easter egg that will appeal to Game of Thrones fans, clicking on the dragon route is going to perform a web search for “Google Easter egg,” which should clear up any lingering suspicions about real dragons that any user might have.
