Given that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is probably one of the hottest Android devices at the moment, it is not surprising that it is constantly put under a barrage of tests to prove (or disprove) how good of a phone it is. Now we’ve seen the handset put through its paces in speed tests before but in case you wanted extra reassurance, Tom’s Guide has the answer for you.
The publication has recently put the Galaxy S6 through a speed test of their own. However unlike other speed tests we’ve seen, this test puts the handset through more specific tasks, such as how long it would take to open a PDF file, how long it takes for the camera to launch, how well a game such as Asphalt 8 runs on the phone, and more.
Basically these are relatively normal tasks that one might perform on their smartphone, so if you wanted a more “real world” test, then this could be a good gauge. As it turns out it looks like Samsung does indeed have a killer phone on their hands. Tom’s Guide found that for the most part, the Galaxy S6 came first in the majority of the tests.
The “worst” the handset did was in the 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited test in which it ranked third amongst the other smartphones, falling behind the likes of the HTC One M9 and the Nexus 6, but still managed to rank first overall. Coming in second place was the LG G4 followed by the iPhone 6, the HTC One M9, the Nexus 6, and the ASUS ZenFone 2 in sixth.
