It has been reported multiple times that the Android 5.1.1 update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is going to bring support for RAW capture but if latest information is to be believed that doesn’t appear to be the case. Instead it’s now rumored that RAW support will actually be introduced with the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is said to be a new variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge with a slightly larger display.
There has also been much talk about the RAM issues with the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, many expected that Samsung would include a fix for these issues with the Android 5.1.1 update.
Now though rumor has it that the fix for those RAM issues will also debuted with the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. This means that those who either own the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge and have been waiting for any of the two, they’ll have to continue waiting until the new handset arrives.
Samsung has not yet confirmed any of this though so it remains a rumor at this point in time, but the company is unlikely to say anything before it’s ready to release the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
There’s no word as yet on when the new handset is going to arrive.
