It was reported a couple of weeks back that Samsung had started working on the Android 5.1 update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. So far the company itself has not confirmed what new features are included in the update but there have been multiple reports which reveal what we can expect from the update. One such report has been published today, which reiterates belief that support for image capture in RAW format is going to be included in Android 5.1 for Galaxy S6.
A recent report also indicated that Android 5.1 for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is going to bring improved exposure settings. Today’s report says that the update is going to bring lower ISO values, perhaps as low as ISO 50. The current lowest ISO value is 100.
These software tweaks for the camera coupled with the 16 megapixel rear sensor on both Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge should in theory improve the camera performance on these handsets, that certainly seems to be Samsung’s aim with Android 5.1 if these reports are to be believed.
The Guest Mode feature is also expected to be included in this update, alongside many bug fixes and performance improvements for the overall system. Samsung has not yet confirmed when Android 5.1 for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is going to be released.
