IFA 2015 takes place in September meaning that we can expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 then, and assuming Apple keeps to schedule, their next iPhone(s) will be announced some time in September as well. No surprises that the competition will be particularly fierce around that point in time.
That being said a new rumor has surfaced in which it suggests that the Galaxy Note 5 could instead be launched in August which gives it more time in the market and would also not be vying with Apple for media coverage. Does this rumor sound familiar? If it does, it’s because last month there were rumors that Samsung was thinking of moving up the launch to July.
Samsung has since refuted the July rumors which means that August is still a possibility although we reckon that’s a bit of a stretch. The report from Taiwan goes on to claim that Samsung has entered into talks with Taiwanese carriers about a possible launch in August, and assuming this is true, that should apply to other markets around the world as well.
Samsung typically announces new products at IFA and this year we’re expecting them to launch a new round smartwatch codenamed Orbis, so it would make sense for them to keep their product announcements together as opposed to separating them, so do take it with a grain of salt for now but what do you guys think?
