Over the weekend we revealed that Blizzard was working on new content for Heroes of the Storm dubbed Eternal Conflict. This is essentially a Diablo-themed update as it will introduce a new map with new mechanics to the game, as well as a new hero in the form of The Butcher, a classic Diablo villain who first made his sinister appearance in the original Diablo.
Now if you’re wondering when the new content will be released, Blizzard has confirmed that it will be released come 30th of June. The update is also scheduled for a release on the Public Test Realm on the 23rd of June, so assuming that everything goes well it should still remain on track for its 30th June release, so gamers who want to check it out before then can do so.
As a quick recap for those who might have missed our earlier report, Eternal Conflict is an upcoming update to Heroes of the Storm. It will introduce a new map dubbed Battlefield of Eternity which is a Diablo-themed map feature “light” and “dark” sides. The mechanics of this map will be slightly different than previous maps which involves capturing towers or collecting resources.
Instead players will have to fight and fend off an immortal being from the opposing team to allow their immortal to pass through and rain chaos on your enemies. It will also introduce The Butcher character to the game and oddly enough despite the artwork showing off King Leoric, the Skeleton King, there is no mention of that hero for now.
