Many of you might remember that a few months back Sony released the 20th anniversary edition PlayStation 4, the only thing about this limited edition console was the color scheme, which paid tribute to the first ever PlayStation console that came out two decades ago. The consoles sold out within hours and fetched unrealistic amounts of money on eBay. If you weren’t able to get in on that, fear not, Sony is going to widely release the DualShock 4 controller with the very same 20th anniversary livery this September.
Many PlayStation fans were nostalgic for the first console when Sony showed off the 20th anniversary edition PlayStation 4. They would have wanted to purchase it but seeing as how it was a limited production run it wasn’t possible for everyone who wanted one to actually get one.
Fortunately though Sony has decided to at least offer some consolation to those fans by releasing the DualShock 4 in 20th anniversary colors, the very same two-tone gray color scheme of the iconic original PlayStation.
Also coming this September is a new gold wireless headset that’s decked out in the same colors, both accessories also feature the original PlayStation logo.
The DualShock 4 and wireless headset will be released in the United States this September for $64.99 and $99.99 respectively. The controller will be released in Asia and Europe as well though Sony has not said if the headset will be released in those markets.
