Yesterday when the product page for Driveclub PlayStation Plus edition went online on the PlayStation Store many thought that this edition of the title had finally been released after countless delays and a state of limbo. However the page was swiftly taken offline and developer Evolution Studios said that it had gone online prematurely, while promising that it will have news to share shortly. Now the Driveclub PS Plus Edition release date has finally been confirmed.
This edition of Driveclub is going to be available for free to PlayStation Plus members who will be able to experience certain elements of the game before they decide whether or not they will like to pay for it.
It was supposed to be launched alongside the title itself but owing to the launch issues faced by Driveclub it was decided to postpone the launch of the PS Plus edition.
President of Sony worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition is going to be released on June 25th, adding that the roll out will gradually go live across the globe as “we are going to be duly cautious about how we release the game this time around.”
PlayStation Plus members will be able to download the title and play it offline starting today, Sony is going to switch on online access gradually to ensure that all systems run smoothly.
Yoshida also said “We want to make sure we don’t overload the servers as we invite millions of PS Plus members to download the game tomorrow.”
