Bungie, the developer behind Destiny, has confirmed that the Iron Banner competitive multiplayer event is coming back today. It’s bringing back Iron Banner in time for the Fourth of July weekend where folks are obviously going to have a lot of time on their hands for gaming. This is the second such event that’s arrived since Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion was released in May.
It has merely been three weeks since the first Iron Banner after House of Wolves, in that event Lord Saladin had offered a rare and vital resource called Etheric Light at ranks 3 and 5 of reputation which was necessary to upgrade to legendary gear.
Also included in that event was a reputation boost for players who had lower ranked Guardians allowing those characters to rank up more quickly in the game.
While Bungie did reveal some of the rewards that are on offer during the second Iron Banner event it hasn’t confirmed yet if those aspects from the first event will be present this time around as well.
The latest Iron Banner event provides players with the chance to earn Gauntlets, Chest, Machinegun and for the first time ever the Pulse Rifle (Skorri’s Revenge).
Destiny’s latest Iron Banner event returns today at 10 am PDT and will last for around one week.
