According to the company, they claim that the Cyanogen OS 12.1 update should be arriving pretty soon. The update is said to be undergoing factory testing and Google certification, so once that’s done it should be good to go for your OnePlus One handset. This is good news for Cyanogen OS fans, especially considering that moving forward OnePlus will no longer be installing the platform on their devices.
That being said this means that future devices will run by default on OxygenOS, OnePlus’ efforts at creating their own platform. However in an update provided by the company, it seems that the next version of OxygenOS will not be arriving anytime soon, at least not until the OnePlus 2 has been released.
OnePlus community manager Helen writes, “This unfortunately means that we won’t have an OTA for the community build of OxygenOS we released back in April for the OnePlus One until after the OnePlus 2 release. We will put up a new build very soon with the touchscreen fix for those of you who are experiencing this problem but we won’t have an official update until we have the resources to do a proper job.”
