Xbox has almost always had priority and exclusivity for Call of Duty DLC content but it looks like this time around the exclusivity might break. Call of Duty has had a long relationship with the Xbox brand, almost every year the new title is unveiled at Microsoft’s press conference, advertisements come with the Xbox logo and the DLC would be released first for Microsoft’s console.

There really was no reason to believe that things might be different this time around. Call of Duty players on other platforms have become used to the fact that DLC content arrives first and remains exclusive to Xbox for 30 days.

It wouldn’t have surprised anyone if it remained business as usual with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 but it seems as if business as usual is not going to continue.

The Xbox One UK page lists a few AAA titles some of which will be released later this year while others will come in 2016. These game covers are accompanied by a green box which either says “content first” or “exclusive game,” it varies per title.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is included in that list but doesn’t have that green box, one would have expected it to have the “content first” but it’s not there.

Perhaps this is nothing more than a slip-up which might be rectified in the near future, or it’s confirmation that the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC won’t be an Xbox exclusive for one month. We may know for sure soon enough.
