However if you’re looking for its successor or think that it could stand to be improved upon, you’re in luck as Bose has officially announced the Bose SoundLink Mini 2 speakers. Similar to the original, these are a pair of Bluetooth speakers that according to Bose, will boast a battery life of up to 10 hours so in theory, unless you listen to music non-stop, it should last you a couple of days with regular use.
It will also be able to double up as a speakerphone so that when you receive calls on your phone, you just need to press a button on the speaker and you’re good to go. Music will automatically resume once your call has ended. Bose has also made some updates so that the speakers can now charge with most USB power sources, although there is still the charging cable if you want to use that.
According to Bose product manager Jack Yu, “The original SoundLink Mini did something remarkable. There was nothing else like it, and it continues to amaze people with its sound. Our engineers kept all that performance — and added new ways to use it and love it.” The Bose SoundLink Mini 2 will be priced at $200.
