During Computex 2015, ASUS announced a couple of new tablets that falls under its ZenPad 8.0 lineup. These tablets are interesting not only because they are powered by Intel’s mobile chipset, but it seems that ASUS has also announced several tablet covers that will accompany these tablets that will do more than just protect your device.
For starters one of the tablet covers will give the tablet extra battery, about 14 hours worth of juice. Another cover called the Audio Cover will give the table additional speakers so that just in case the default speakers aren’t loud or dynamic enough, the Audio Cover will be able to takeover and add to that. It will add a total of six speakers to the back of your tablet and supposedly delivers DTS-HD 5.1 surround sound.
As for the tablets themselves, there are two models – the Z380C and the Z580CA. The former will be powered by an Intel Atom X3 SoFIA chip with 1-2GB of RAM, 8/16GB of storage, and an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1200×800. As for the Z580CA, this will be the higher-end of the two.
It will feature a faster processor and a much higher resolution in the form of 2048×1536. It will also come with stylus support, more RAM, higher storage, and slightly improved cameras. Unfortunately just like ASUS’ other announcements at Computex, pricing and availability have yet to be determined.
