Asus is gearing up to unveil another variant of the Asus Zenfone 2. This new variant (ZenFone 2 ZE551ML) will feature whopping 128GB of internal storage paired with 4GB of RAM. The predecessor variant featured just 64GB of internal storage.
It will be priced at $387 and will be up for purchase in Taiwan on June 18th at 10am. The Zenfone 2 sold around 100,000 units in Taiwan, and now with the forthcoming double storage variant of the Zenfone 2, the company is hoping to sell even more units in the country, given its pricing. Asus Zenfone range has been a success due to its low pricing and high specs, and now with the new variant, it would be interesting to see if the demand goes further up.
To give a recap of the specifications offered in the Asus Zenfone 2, It comes with a 5.5-inch LCD glass display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and PowerVR G6430 GPU. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera, along with 5-megapixel front camera. It is a dual SIM device backed by a 3000mAh of battery, running Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Asus has not yet revealed whether the 128GB variant of the Zenfone 2 will go on sale in the U.S. Interestingly, the Zenfone 2 64GB variant was up for purchase in the U.S. via Amazon, Groupon, B&H, and many more retailers.
