Applecare

Applecare+ has just got sweeter with changes made in its terms and conditions for battery replacements. The protection plan by Apple will now be replacing battery of MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, iPods, or Apple Watches even if it has worn out by 80% of its total power.

The Cupertino tech giant has quietly made changes in the Applecare terms over the past week for both iOS and Mac devices. Earlier, there was a condition that iOS batteries had to be retaining up to 50% of health in order to be eligible for battery replacement. Now, the terms and conditions state that the battery can be less than 80% of health, which is really cool. The overhauled Apple Care policy now covers any battery that retains less than 80% of its actual capacity.

Going by the design and quality that Apple provides with its products, batteries shouldn’t give up on that much health under the extended warranty tenure, but nothing is certain so in case the battery loses its capacity under the warranty period then it won’t bother the user anymore. The policy has been updated and is under effect from now for all the Macs and latest iOS devices bought ahead of April 10, 2015.
