Apple today finally confirmed when its first smartwatch is finally going to be sold through stores. The company has struggled to keep up with demand reportedly due to low production yields and that might be one of the reasons why the smartwatch has not yet been sold in Apple Stores across the globe. Though Apple has finally confirmed today when that’s going to happen, and it has also announced that the Apple Watch will be released in seven more countries later this month.
Customers in Singapore, Mexico, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan and Switzerland will be able to purchase the Apple Watch starting Friday, June 26th. Pricing will vary per market.
Apple’s senior vice president of operations Jeff Williams said that the response to the smartwatch has “surpassed our expectations in every way,” and that the company is thrilled to bring it to more customers around the world.
Williams also revealed that the company is making “great” progress with the backlog of orders, adding that all orders placed through last month with the exception of the Apple Watch 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet will be shipped to customers within two weeks.
The Apple Watch is currently available in the U.S., UK, Australia, China, Canada, Germany, France, Hong Kong and Japan. All three collections will be launched in the aforementioned countries on June 26th.
