As you might know, word of mouth marketing is probably one of the best forms of marketing which is why the 38% figure is rather disappointing. UserTesting surveyed 52 Apple Watch owners, which is admittedly a rather small sample, and found that 35% were passive about the device, while 27% were critical of it.
The survey also found that despite the numerous apps available for the watch, they felt slow and unreliable and this was the chief concern of users at 19%. According to UserTesting’s VP Of Mobile Michael Mace, “These survey results are not overwhelming. If Apple wants people to get excited and recommend heavily, it needs to get additional hooks. Third-party apps will be best way.”
However it isn’t all doom and gloom for the Apple Watch. Many users have cited features like fitness tracking as being very useful, along with the ability to read notifications without having to constantly pull out their iPhone to check on it. In the meantime another report has revealed that Google searches for the Apple Watch are on the decline and that searches for the iPod are actually eclipsing it.
