Not too long after Apple Music was announced Sonos confirmed that at launch the new music streaming service will not be supported by its multi-room wireless speakers, but it didn’t shut the door completely on the service, adding that it could arrive at some point in the future. Now though there’s more news on that front, with confirmation coming from Sonos that they are working with Apple to bring its music streaming service “before the end of the year.”
This was even confirmed by senior director Apple Music and ex Beats CEO Ian Rogers over Twitter when asked if Apple Music would come to Sonos, he replied in the affirmative, adding that it will arrive “ASAP” just not at launch.
On the other hand a spokesperson for Sonos has confirmed to The Verge that the company is working with Apple to bring Apple Music support to Sonos systems by the end of this year.
So it’s certainly good news for potential Apple Music subscribers who already have a Sonos system in their home, they’ll be able to get their new service in a few months time.
Apple Music is going to be launched on June 30th, initially users get a three month free trial before having to pay $9.99 per month for the service.
