A report from The Korea Times (via 9to5Mac) has suggested that Apple might be thinking of increasing the storage size of its next-gen iPhones, indicating that Apple might want to go even higher than 128GB and that the company could be thinking of tapping Samsung to help provide them with additional storage.
The report claims that both companies are in talks regarding pricing and shipments but beyond that it is unclear as to sizes we could be looking at, although logically speaking we suppose it could be bumped to a whopping 256GB but imagine the price premium on that model! Yikes! It is unclear as to why Apple could be deciding to offer more storage – perhaps the launch of Apple Music might see more users storing music offline could be one of them.
Also given that Apple has seemingly started to shift the focus away from the iPod, maybe they want their iPhones to become the de facto music player for customers. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information. In the meantime does the idea of the iPhone offering up more storage appeal to you?
