If you’re looking to game on a tablet, you could always use the iPad, but if you wanted something with beefier specs and has been designed for gaming in mind, there are devices like the NVIDIA Shield tablet. However for those shopping for an alternative, you might be interested to learn that Acer has announced the Predator 8 at Computex 2015 in Taiwan.
Unlike other gaming tablets which might rely on Qualcomm processors or in the case of NVIDIA, their own Tegra lineup, Acer has decided to go with Intel which will see the company’s 14nm Atom x7 processor featured in the tablet. In fact the debut of the chipset in the Predator 8 makes it the first Android tablet to sport the processor.
Given that the Predator 8 has been designed for gaming in mind, it will feature four front-facing speakers and will sport an edgy look that is typical of gaming devices. According to those who witnessed Acer putting on a demonstration of the tablet, games appear to be running pretty smoothly on it so that’s worth taking note of.
Unfortunately the rest of the tablet’s specs including other information such as pricing and availability were not announced, but hopefully Acer will have those details available for the public in the near future.
