How big of a hit, you ask? Well according to a report from Deutsche Bank, it seems that they are predicting that Samsung will sell at least 45 million Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets by the end of 2015. This falls slightly short of initial predictions where it was estimated that the South Korean tech giant would have no issues moving as much as 50 million units this year.
That being said 45 million is still an impressive figure and a report from 3 months ago have suggested that the company had received 20 million pre-orders for the handset meaning that they are more than halfway to their goal. It is unclear as to how many handsets Samsung is aiming for this year, but apparently the handset is meeting internal targets.
However there have been some reports to suggest that the handset isn’t doing as well as it could and that Samsung is said to be scaling back production, but if the estimates of 45 million are to be believed, that hardly seems like the case.
