Just yesterday Sony officially announced the 1TB PlayStation 4. This was great news for gamers who felt that perhaps the 500GB PS4 model wasn’t big enough. It should be noted that the announcement was made on Sony’s EU PlayStation blog and there was no mention as to whether it would arrive stateside.
Unfortunately for gamers in the US, you guys will have to sit this one out, at least for now. When asked by Game Informer as to whether the 1TB model would arrive in North American markets, a Sony representative was quoted as saying, “We have no plans to announce at this time.” This is no doubt a bit disappointing, we agree.
However it seems unlikely that Sony would skip over North America entirely, right? After all it doesn’t make sense that they would leave out North America with the 1TB model, unless of course they have determined that maybe the North American market has no need for a console with so much storage.
In any case we will be keeping an eye out for additional details about a potential release stateside so do check back with us in the future for more updates. In the meantime what do you guys think? Is this a big deal or is the 500GB model more than enough for your use?
