Whenever a flash sale is held these days, it does look and feel as though said device being sold is going to continue with gangbusters sales figures. However, some of these flash sales performances can be misleading, and are in no way an indicator of how future sales would be like for the same device across different regions. While we did mention how YU managed to pick up half a million registrations in a Yuphoria flash sale, here we are with information that the amount of time required to hit that figure was just a matter of seconds.
Basically, more than 5 million people actually registered for the sale, and if you thought that this was a large number, it pales in comparison to the overall population in India, the country that has the world’s second highest population. Amazon had already informed consumers that they had 3 minutes to add the phone to their cart, as well as a quarter of an hour to check out the moment the sale kicked off at 2pm Indian Time earlier this afternoon. The asking price for the YU Yuphoria stood at an equivalent of $109 after conversion.
