The definition of success can be a pretty difficult one to pin down – there are many different kinds of criteria that one has to take into consideration. However, when it comes to the world of mobile devices, one very clear and strong indicator of success would be the sales figures – not just at launch, although many do ride such momentum forward, but also throughout the product’s lifetime, especially in the subsequent months after launch when new competitors hit the market. YU’s second handset, the Yuphoria, has flagged off well from the starting blocks, as YU claims that they managed to obtain more than 500,000 registrations for the upcoming flash sale of the Yuphoria.
The first handset of theirs happens to be the Yureka, and knowing that they have continued with the word play, one can only wonder what the name of the next model can be. Back to the topic at hand – obtaining large numbers of registrations are impressive, but those do not automatically translate to a surefire sale, although most of the time they do.
Do bear in mind that the Yuphoria is not a high end smartphone, so do not expect it to come with bells and whistles that will blow your mind away.
