Xiaomi Mi 4i Update To (Hopefully) Address Overheating Problems
It was at the beginning of this particular work week that we brought you an interesting video of the Xiaomi Mi 4i’s packaging – one where it proved itself to be extremely tough and strong, even when adults are standing on it. I suppose the only thing that the packaging needs now would be the ability to float, just in case a shipment gets lost at sea. But I digress – it looks like this particular handset has issues with overheating as well, as it runs on the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC that boasts of an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and is mated to the Adreno 405 GPU.
Xiaomi decided to pull one back for the team by rolling out a rather hefty 804MB update, which will be known as V6.5.4.0 LXIMICD. This particular update is said to be able to adjust the thermal control algorithm in order for the handset to be more comfortably held in one’s hand. There were also rumors going around earlier this month that pointed to the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro that runs on the Snapdragon 810 chip, being plagued by an overheating condition, too, but that eventually proved to be a defective handset that had nothing to do with overheating.
Well, we do wish the Xiaomi Mi 4i all the best with this new update!
