Ubisoft Will Not Bring Triple-A Titles Onto PS3/Xbox 360 Consoles

assassin's creed syndicateBoth the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One were released in 2013, which means that it’s been about one and a half years that both consoles have been in the market, which also means that developers will most likely start to shift their focus towards developing for these consoles as opposed to their predecessors.

Ubisoft is one of them as the company has recently announced that moving forward, all of their major titles will focus on the newer platforms. This is evidenced in the recent announce of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate in which the game will only be released for the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC. In fact last year we kind of caught a glimpse of Ubisoft’s plans when Assassin’s Creed Unity also skipped previous-gen consoles.

That being said, this does not mean that Ubisoft will neglect the Xbox 360 or the PS3. In a recent earnings report via GameSpot, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot was quoted as saying, “On Just Dance, we will continue to bring old-gen console versions. But on the other products like Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, The Division, and the unannounced franchise, we will not have old-gen versions.”

Basically there will still be titles released for the previous-gen consoles, but if you were hoping for major triple-A titles then perhaps it might be time to upgrade.
