YouTube is celebrating its ten year anniversary and to commemorate the occasion it has partnered up with Nestle to temporarily rebrand the KitKat candy bar to YouTube Break in the UK. That’s not all though, the online video streaming site has also revealed some interesting statistics about the most popular games, based on time watched. It has shared a list of the top ten games on YouTube.
Gameplay videos are among the most watched videos on YouTube. People like to hit up the site to watch walkthrough videos, game reviews, mods and much more. Gaming related content always brings in a lot of traffic on YouTube.
The list breaks down the top ten games on YouTube and unsurprisingly Minecraft has topped the list, I say unsurprisingly because Minecraft has almost always been popular on YouTube, last year users searched for it more than they did for Taylor Swift or Beyonce.
The Grand Theft Auto series is in second placed followed by League of Legends in third. Call of duty series comes fourth, FIFA series is fifth, Garry’s Mod, The Sims and Five Night at Freddy’s series are ranked sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
Last two places are taken up by Puzzles & Dragon and Dota 2. YouTube said that collectively these video game related videos have generated “billions of hours of watchtime” in the decade that the site has been around.
