Selfies have become quite popular and now it’s no longer surprising to see someone out in the world taking a picture of their face with something interesting in the background, or just taking pictures of their face because they want to. It may not make sense to some people but apparently almost everybody is doing it these days. Even iconic WWE wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who now holds the world record for most selfies taken in under three minutes.
The Rock claimed this record for himself at the world premiere of his new film San Andreas. He was able to take 105 selfies in under three minutes, more than what he required to claim this world record.
It was the real deal. Officials from the Guinness World Records were present to judge the proceedings and they ruled that The Rock had indeed been able to take the most selfies in under three minutes.
During the world premiere of San Andreas at London’s Odeon Leicester Square, he actually took more than 105 selfies but they were discarded for either being blurry or having only part of his face. It was required for the selfies to have his full face equally present in the frame along with those of eager fans who got their wish to take a selfie with The Rock granted.
The wrestler turned actor joked on Twitter that the world record wasn’t the only thing that he went away with that night, this also proved to be “helluva shoulder workout.”
