Galaxy S6 Edge owners on Sprint should keep their eyes peeled for an update notification because the carrier has just now rolled out a new software update for this handset. It’s a minor and incremental update which is going to fix some bugs on the device. Users shouldn’t expect to see any new features on the handset after this update has been downloaded and installed.
Sprint isn’t the only carrier that has released an incremental update today for Samsung’s latest flagship. A couple of hours back AT&T released a new software update for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
However it is still not clear why AT&T has released that update today. Unlike Sprint, the country’s second largest carrier has not provided a changelog which states precisely what this update does.
Sprint has also updated the support page for the Galaxy S6 Edge to confirm that it has indeed released a new software update for this handset.
Software version G925PVPU1AOE2 retains the device at Android 5.0.2 but brings some crucial bug fixes for the Galaxy S6 Edge. It comes in at around 130MB so it should take more than a few minutes to download and install on your device, just be sure to connect to a good Wi-Fi network first.
