When the Sony Xperia Z4 was launched, many were surprised to learn that it appeared to be a Japan-only handset, as opposed to Sony’s previous Xperia Z offerings which were released to other markets in the world. However there might be some good news as Sony is said to be hosting an event on the 26th of May in New Delhi, India in which the handset’s international availability is expected to be announced.
The invite for the event basically asks fans and customers to block the date for the 26th of May. It also shows water splashing in the background which seems to hint that it could be a product launch for sports, or a product that is water-resistant, like the Xperia Z4, although there are some who believe that the Xperia M4 Aqua might make an appearance as well.
Given that the launch is taking place outside of Japan, it has led to speculation that this could mean that Sony might be announcing the international availability of the Sony Xperia Z4. This isn’t that huge of a stretch considering that a rumor from last week suggested that Verizon could be offering the handset in the near future, so like we said international availability of the phone certainly looks like it’s looming.
We suggest you guys try not to get your hopes up just yet in case the event does not yield any good news, but check back with us next week to see if there are any details to be had.
