A couple of months ago the folks at Harmonix confirmed that a new Rock Band game was in the works – Rock Band 4. This is actually an interesting shift as it seemed that these types of games were dead and were no longer as popular as they used to be, but we guess the demand for such titles are still around, hence Rock Band 4.
Now for gamers wondering what the game might look like, you will be pleased to learn that IGN has managed to get their hands on some screenshots of the game and has posted them online. So far we have to say that Rock Band 4 does not appear to be too drastic in terms of a redesign and will share a similar art style to its predecessor.
The screenshots also show that the multi-colored 5-lane note track has made a return. As for gameplay footage, IGN is expected to unveil the footage come 15th of May at 8pm BST so do check back with us then for the details. Rock Band 4 will have a campaign mode which has been described as an RPG of sorts.
According to the game’s design Alli Thresher, “We want you to step up to the mic and interact with them, tell jokes, have them respond to your jokes, you know? Everything’s about all the stuff that all of us might have experienced, and want to share it with the people playing the game.” In the meantime Activision has also announced the return of their own music game, Guitar Hero Live.
