During the company’s recent earnings, the company’s revenue dropped by 38.6% which is worse than the same period last year. In fact the drop also represents the worst April the company has had in the last six years and apparently the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 in the handset is to blame for the phone’s lackluster sales.
This is according to an analyst from Yuanta Securities who has been quoted by the Taiwanese media as saying, “HTC might have underestimated the Snapdragon 810’s thermal issues,” which reportedly was the cause behind users who were unwilling to adopt the device and also carriers who were reluctant to carry the device.
While it is true that the handset does run hotter than the competition, it is not really a concern as during our hands-on review and similarly other reviews did not find that heat was an issue with the phone, but what say you? Was there a reason you might not have considered the HTC One M9 as your next phone?
