Now before you freak out and wondering why on earth does it cost so much, relax! Iribe revealed the price during the Code Conference today and stated that this was the “all-in” price of the device. What this means is that he expects that the headset along with the price of a gaming PC should set customers back around $1,500.
If you might recall, Oculus recently released the specs required to run the device on your PC. Based on what we saw, it requires users to have a pretty decent piece of hardware, and if you don’t you would basically need a new one, which Iribe has estimated would cost gamers $1,500 including the headset.
However if you’re already running a killer rig then the headset itself will most likely set you back a few hundred bucks, although at the moment an official and exact price of the Oculus Rift headset has yet to be determined. So gamers, based on the specs required to run the Oculus Rift, will you be needing a new PC?
