Activision’s $500 million bet on Destiny appears to have paid off. The Bungie title has done very well since it was first released last year and while rumors about its sequel continue to fly there’s one major expansion left that will be released later this year. Activision has revealed that the fall expansion for Destiny is going to bring the “biggest content addition yet” for this title. It’s likely that this is the last expansion for this title as Bungie starts focusing on the sequel.
This was revealed during Activision Blizzard’s quarterly financial conference call with investors and analysts, the publisher itself said that the Destiny fall expansion is going to bring the most content of any expansion released for this title.
It further explained that the expansion will add content “across all game modes,” reiterating that it’s going to be “that big of an experience.” Activision went on to say that the new content is not just going to be “incredibly appealing” for existing Destiny players but the expansion might even be able to bring new players to the title.
Activision didn’t go into detail about the actual content that this expansion will bring, or when precisely it will be released, so we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for that information.
