Those who own the Surface RT and Surface 2 tablets, both of which were powered by Windows RT, they can now trade in their old tablet and get up to $150 which can be put towards the purchase of a brand new Surface 3.
Unlike the Surface RT and the Surface 2, Microsoft’s Surface 3 tablet runs a full version of Windows and is capable of running conventional desktop applications. Microsoft has already promised to update the tablet to Windows 10 once the new software is released this summer.
The company is running this trade-in offer for a limited time and only in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rick. The maximum Surface RT owners can get when they trade in their tablet is $100, only Surface 2 owners can get up to $150.
Microsoft will determine the trade-in value before it gives the customer a figure, the value will be ascertained by look at the tablet’s condition, available accessories and ensuring that it’s in working condition.
A promo code will then be emailed to the owner who can then use it to purchase the Surface 3 online from Microsoft’s store.
